Over 100,000 Fans Petition to Replay the Euro 2020 Final

Football fans have launched a petition on Change.org demanding a replay of the Euro 2020 final. Outraged supporters believe the referee unfairly favored Italy.

“The match was completely unfair. The Italians weren’t sent off, even though they were manhandling England’s players like ragdolls. How could they be allowed to win after all those fouls, grabs, and shoves? It’s obvious there was biased refereeing. They should have been ejected, so the game needs to be replayed with an impartial referee,” as stated in the petition.

This idea has been backed by over 100,000 fans, but it’s clear that UEFA couldn’t organize it even if they wanted to. The players have already dispersed, heading off to rest and prepare for the upcoming season.

Recall that in the Euro 2020 final, Italy and England ended regulation time at 1-1, with no goals in extra time. Italy won the penalty shootout and became European champions. The match took place in London at Wembley Stadium.
